About Female Intimate Waxing
Training Courses At nkd ( )
This one-day course goes back to basics for all you need to know about female intimate waxing, specifically how to carry out female Brazilian and Hollywood waxes like the experts do. This means quickly, efficiently, with minimum discomfort to the client and making sure that all necessary hair is removed.
Using Perron Rigot non-strip wax, the course is suitable for therapists with little or no knowledge and experience of advanced female intimate waxing and for more experienced therapists who want to truly perfect
their skills.
As with all nkd waxing school courses, our Female Intimate Waxing courses focus heavily on the practical. Each student will get to carry out two full intimate waxes on two different models (compared to the vast majority of one-day waxing courses which offer a maximum of one model per student).

ESSENTIAL NEED-TO-KNOWS
- You must either be Minimum NVQ level 2 trained in beauty therapy or have a basic waxing qualification for complete beginners and have good basic pot and spatula waxing skills.
- You must be prepared to act as a model for other students on the day of your course and be prepared to wax your fellow students. See FAQs if you’re unwilling or unable to act as a model yourself.
- This course involves waxing the entire genital region. You shouldn’t attend this course if you’re uncomfortable with this.

FAQS
To enrol onto any of our advanced waxing courses (e.g. Female Intimate, Male Intimate, Speed Waxing), you must be Minimum NVQ level 2 qualified in beauty therapy or Scottish HND equivalent, or already have a basic waxing qualification. You must also be proficient in the basic pot and spatula waxing way of waxing.
If you’re a female attending our female intimate waxing course, you will be required to model on the day, in line with standard practice on all female intimate waxing courses. Please note that you must not shave, wax or remove your pubic hair in any other way for 4 weeks before the date of your training course.
If you’re a female and attending our male intimate waxing course, you will obviously not be required to model on the day!
If you’re attending the female intimate waxing course as a student and you’re unwilling or unable to act as a model for your fellow students, you have a couple of options:
- You can bring your own model along, on prior agreement with nkd. This model must not have shaved, waxed, or removed her pubic hair in any other way for 4 weeks before the date of your training course.
- Your model will only be able to stay in the training room for the time that she is required to model. There are loads of shops, restaurants and bars close to our salon for her to visit during the rest of the day!
- You can pay an additional fee of £35.00 and we will source a replacement model for you. In this case, you must let us know at the time of booking your course so that we have time to source the additional model.
Please note that if you turn up without the required amount of hair and without a model who has the required amount of hair, you will not be allowed to complete the course and we will be unable to issue you with a refund.
We endeavour to ensure that all training course attendees get to practice on at least 2 models during every course they attend. Please note that the vast majority of waxing courses only offer one model per student, meaning that, on most other female intimate waxing course, students all wax each other but do not have any additional external models sourced for them.
For an additional fee, we are able to provide additional models at the end of each day for further one-to-one supervised practice. These waxes would take place downstairs in nkd’s waxing salon. The cost of this is £35 per model and this service must be booked and paid for in full in advance to enable us to source the required number of models.
If you have any hang ups about offering a Brazilian or Hollywood wax, you should not enrol on any intimate waxing course, either with nkd or any other training provider! Both our male and female intimate waxing courses involve the waxing of the entire genital region. You should not book onto our courses if this notion makes you feel uncomfortable. That said, receiving the proper training may give you the confidence you require to overcome your shyness.
Clients will, however, pick up on any discomfort or embarrassment you feel, so make sure that you are truly at one with Brazilian/Hollywood waxing before you consider offering this treatment to your clients. There are plenty of other beauty treatments that are also in high demand if you decide that Brazilian/Hollywood waxing is not for you!
To protect ourselves and you, nkd has high standards. If we do not feel you have reached the required level of waxing on the day of your course, we are sorry but we will be unable to certify you. In that instance, you will be given one month to go away, practice your techniques and return to nkd to be re-assessed. Unfortunately, we will not be able to refund you the cost of your course or any associated monies if you fail your re-assessment.
For this reason, we advise that you ensure you are already proficient and confident in traditional “pot and spatula” type waxing before booking onto an advanced waxing course.
You will be asked to pay a minimum 50% of the cost of your course upon booking in order to secure your place. The balance is payable 4 weeks before your training date.
If you cancel up to 4 weeks before your course, you are entitled to a 100% refund. If you cancel up to 2 weeks before your course, you are entitled to a 50% refund of the cost of the course, unless you manage to find a replacement student for the same course date. If you cancel with less than 2 weeks’ notice, we will be unable to refund the cost of your course, unless you manage to find a replacement student for the same course date. In these cases, we reserve the right to charge a £15 administration fee.
Note that the following occurrences are also non-refundable:
- If you turn up without the required amount of hair and without a model who has the required amount of hair and you are not allowed to participate in the course as a result.
- If you fail to pass the course on the day or when you return at a later date to be reassessed.
- If you turn up to a course without holding the minimum level of qualifications for that course and you are unable to complete the course as a result.
Maximum class sizes will be usually be 6 – 8 students. For classes of 6 – 8 students or more, we will have two trainers on hand to oversee all practical sessions. nkd feels very strongly that class sizes should be kept small/the relevant number of trainers are on hand to ensure that every student gets as much attention as possible. We recommend that you think very carefully before enrolling on any waxing training courses which accept more than 6 – 8 students, unless a second trainer will be present.
Lunch is not provided. There are lots of supermarkets, cafes and bars near to our salons and training centres where you can buy lunch from.
Please wear normal professional salon working attire, e.g. a tunic or something similar.
